Jame Joyce

English 3713

In this course, students will trace the arc of Joyce¹s career from the short story collection Dubliners to Finnegans Wake. Although the majority of the course will be devoted to the study of Ulysses, Joyce¹s influence on the modern novel, his understanding and embracing of cinema, his concern with Irish nationalism, his perfecting of the interior monologue, and his employment of the stream of consciousness technique, will all be considered.
