OUTLINE:
In this course we shall be reintroducing ourselves to the wonderful world of children's literature with a selection of children's classics. The emphasis will be on fiction, but a consideration of other genres will be achieved by means of a portfolio project which will be discussed in class.

EVALUATION:

Attendance - 10%
Portfolio - to be discussed in class 50% (due date to be determined)
Critiques - to be discussed in class 10% (due dates to be determined)
Final Examination 30%

Please note that TWO copies of the major assignment must be submitted and each date-stamped and signed by the departmental secretary. Any assignment handed in late will be subject to a deduction of 5% per day. No assignments will be marked after the others have been returned.

Of Interest - Students may wish to take advantage of the material in the Children's Literature Collection which is housed in the Nan Gregg Room (HIL, 4th floor). This is a non-circulating collection and, due to its special nature, eating and drinking in the room are prohibited.
