Daryl Gray is a Nova Scotian who attended Dalhousie University. While at university Daryl was active in Dal Radio (as it was known then) and worked as a DJ at a Halifax FM radio station part-time. After graduation with a BA in Political Science Daryl began his broadcasting career with the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in Sydney, N.S. Daryl worked for the CBC for 23 years as a cameraman, editor, producer and director. He was based in Sydney, Charlottetown, Halifax and Toronto and travelled extensively. Daryl worked on The National, The Journal, 1st Edition, Man Alive, Venture, Marketplace, Street Cents, Codco and Country Canada among many other programs. Daryl also spent a year at CITY-TV in Toronto. Daryl co-produced a documentary between the NFB and CBC called “Remember Africville”. Daryl has received numerous awards and was nominated for a Gemini Award.

In 1999 Daryl left the CBC to form his own production company; GrayCam Productions Inc. Daryl has shot and produced documentaries for Discovery Channel, W, History Channel and the CBC. During that time Daryl also was a trainer/consultant for several broadcasters including the CBC. Daryl has trained journalists in Cambodia, Bosnia and Singapore. In 2002, Daryl began teaching broadcast journalism at St. Thomas University and joined the faculty full-time in 2003. You can view some of Daryl’s work at: http://www.graycam.com.
