Transport in Halifax

Getting to Halifax from the Airport
Go out of one of the doors by the luggage carousels. You have a choice of a shuttle bus, a taxi, or a limo. The city is about 20 miles away. A shuttle costing $12 single and $20 round trip drops off at the main hotels in Halifax but not the smaller hotels or B and Bs. If you are going to a major hotel and you are on your own it will be the cheapest to go by shuttle. The person in the kiosk selling tickets just outside the exit will tell you if the shuttle stops at or near your accommodation. Groups or people arriving together or staying at the Bedford hotels or B and Bs will be better to get a taxi or limo. Regular taxi rates are $43 each way for 1-4 people but Ann Marie has arranged a special rate with Hollis Taxi 902 452-7427. They will take 1-4 people for $35. The owner is David Fraser. Delegates should mention that they are with the Rural Communities Conference at Dalhousie University. The limo takes more passengers and is slightly more than the regular taxi rate.
