Computer Technician
St. Thomas University
offers a dynamic and challenging work environment and invites applications
for the position of Computer Technician.
Reporting to the
Director of Information Technology, the Computer Technician contributes
to the efficiency of the computing services department by responding
to user questions and problems, installing software and performing a
wide range of duties designed to service the St. Thomas community. Specifically,
the incumbent provides technical guidance to staff, faculty and students;
consults with and advises users who are experiencing computer software
or hardware problems; modifies and maintains audiovisual equipment located
throughout the University campus.
Minimum qualifications
include: A+ certification and a one year IT technician course from an
accredited institution accompanied by a minimum of two years of related
experience or some equivalent combination of education and experience.
The successful candidate must have experience with network troubleshooting,
Windows XP, MS Office, and Netscape. Experience with Novell is preferred.
Preference will also be given to those with experience installing, operating
and troubleshooting audiovisual equipment. Exceptional interpersonal
skills and experience working in a service environment are essential
qualifications for this position.
The salary range
for this position is $33,336 - $42,456. In addition, the University
offers an excellent fringe benefits package. The closing date for receipt
