Rev. J. Raymond McKenna, BA ‘53, retired this past summer at the age of 70. His future plans include a trip to Lourdes.
1960’s
Muriel (Longlade) Arseneau, BEd ‘69, has been named President of the Auxiliary of St. Mary’s Hospital in Montreal, PQ.
Terry Lynch, BA ‘68 and BEd ‘70, has recently retired as a school principal after 30 years of teaching in the Toronto area. He is currently residing in Pickering with his 4 children.
1970’s
Frank White, BA ‘70 and BEd ‘72, was presented the T.E.A.M. award “in recognition of outstanding contributions to the middle level education”. The award recognized his work as Principal of Rothesay Park School in transforming it from an elementary school into a successful and innovative middle school.
1980’s
Gary W. Keating, BA ‘83 and BEd ‘84, has recently been appointed Principal of Simonds High School in Saint John, NB. Gary and his wife, Catherine, have 3 children; Aaron, Andrew and Emily.
Dave Demirkan, BA ‘86, has become Vice-President of the Public Legal Education Society of Nova Scotia after serving on the board of directors for three years.
James Higgins, BSW ‘86, BEd ‘90 and BA ’99 was awarded an educational leave from St. Stephen Middle School for 2000-2001. He was accepted into the graduate program at UNB and hopes to graduate in the Fall of 2001 with a Masters Degree in Educational Administration.
1990’s
Cindy Gillet, BA ‘92 , BEd ‘93 and Eric Bissonnette BA ‘96 and BEd ‘97 who recently celebrated their first anniversary, were married August 14, 1999 at the St. Thomas Chapel in Fredericton, NB. Attending the wedding are former St. Thomas students, Sheri Shannon, BA ‘00 (attendant), Shayne Arsenault, BA ‘93, BEd ‘94, Pat Cloutier, BA ‘96, BEd ‘97, Chris Burns, BA ’94 and friends, Tanya (Hughson) Arsenault (attendant), Phil Daigle, Stephen Campbell, Johnny Lorenzo, Jeff Taylor, Derek Gallant, Sylvain Mayer (attendant), Sonya Shannon and Eric’s former coach, Derryl Smith.
Troy Goodfellow, BA ‘93, received his PhD in political science from the University of Toronto in November, 2000. He is currently working for Sussex Circle Inc. as a research consultant.
Tina (Grandy) Armstrong, BA ‘95 and BEd ‘96 married James Armstrong on August 5, 2000. They now reside in Edmonton, AB where Tina teaches Grade 6 at R.J. Scott Elementary School and James is a detective with the Military Police.
Diane LeBel, BA ‘95 and Marc Michaud were married on July 1, 2000.
Geoffrey McCullogh, BA ‘96 has recently become the Director of Athletics and a grade 8 Physical Education teacher at Bayview Glen, an independant school in Don Mills, ON.
Linda Gionet, BA ‘96 graduated from the London School of Economics with a MSc in Comparative Politics and now is working as a Program Officer for the Federal Government’s International Education Unit.
Lynn Gaudet, BA ‘96 is substitute teaching in the Moncton area and is currently taking courses at the Universite de Moncton in hopes of obtaining her Human Resources Management Degree.
Stacey (Boudreau) McCue, BA ‘96 was married to Peter McCue of Grand Falls on May 27, 2000 at the St. Thomas Chapel. Stacey and Peter are living in Grand Falls where Stacey teaches grade six in Plaster Rock and Peter is a forest technician.
Michelle Frenette, BA ‘97, is currently working as a youth addiction counsellor for Perth Addiction Center Inc. in Stratford, ON.
Julie LeBlanc, BA 98, after teaching one year in Mexico, is now attending the BEd Program at Acadia University.
Kirk Matheson, BEd ‘98, is now working at the Tabusintac School in Miramichi, NB, teaching grades 5 and 6.
2000’s
Sheri Shannon, BA ‘00 has recently been appointed as the Alumni Affairs Officer for St. Thomas University. She started her new position in September, 2000.
Stephanie Slaney, BA ‘00 has recently been appointed as a Policy Analyst with the New Brunswick Health Care Association. She started her new position in August, 2000.
Ryan Sullivan, BA ‘00 has recently been appointed as a High School Relations Officer for St. Thomas University. He started his new position in June, 2000.
Michael Fleming, BA ‘00, was accepted to the M.A. Program at UNB Fredericton. He received a graduate assistance ship of $9900. He also received the Nels Anderson Research Grant valued at $1300.
Stephanie Oley, BEd ‘00 has recently accepted a full-time teaching position at St. Joseph’s Collegiate School in Brooks, AB.
Stephanie Bogle, BA ‘00 is teaching English in Honduras and is also leading music at their Church Worship.
