Printing FAQ's:
Printing Solutions:
How do I buy more printing credit?
At the beginning of the year, each student receives $5.00 (50 pages) of print credit that appears, automatically, on their account. When you’ve used all of this credit you must go to the Registrar’s Office in George Martin Hall and pay for more printing credit. You may purchase as much or as little printing credit as you need. They will present you with a receipt. You must bring that receipt back to the computer lab and give it to the help desk assistant so that they can add the credit to your account. Otherwise, the credit will not be added to your account.
Can I buy print credits if the Registrar’s Office is closed?
On school nights, the computer lab is open until 11:00pm. The Registrar’s office, however, closes at 5:00pm. If you need printing credit after the Registrar’s Office is closed, the computer lab can give you temporary credit (Maximum of $5.00). You will have to leave you student ID card or your driver’s license at the help desk and tell the assistant that you would like to make a night deposit. We will hold your card until you pay for the print credit. You must pay your credit at the Registrar’s office as soon as possible.
If you have an outstanding night deposit credit for over two weeks, your computer lab account will be temporarily disabled until you pay the credit. If your account has been disabled, due to unpaid print credit, you will have to pay the credit, present your receipt to a help desk assistant and tell them that your account was disabled, so that they can enable it again.
How do I find out how much print credit I have left?
To find out how much print credit is left on your account, just tell the help desk assistant on duty what your login ID is (ex. gxxxx) and they can look up your account balance for you.
What do I do if I can't print?
If you have hit the print button and nothing has happened there are two things you should check:
1. Double check to make sure you are logged into the network (If you go to My Computer and your F: Drive is not there, then you are not connected to the network. Please ask the lab assistant if you require assistance with signing on to the network).
2. If you are logged onto the computer and you still can't print, make sure you have enough print credits. If you have clicked print and nothing came out check the task bar at the bottom of your screen to see if you have a message saying you are out of print credits. If there is no message at the bottom of the screen please see the lab assistant and they will be able to let you know how many print credits you have.
If you are experiencing difficulty printing please contact Kathy Buffett.

How do I print more than one slide per page?
When printing slides from Microsoft Power Point or Corel Presentations, in order to print multiple slides per page, you first have to select ‘print’ from the ‘file’ drop down menu. When the printing box appears, near the bottom there is an option that says ‘Print What’, from this field select ‘handouts’ and then to the right of this you can select how many slides per page you want to print.
When I try to print a slide show it is only printing the side frame
If the student is not able to access a computer with Microsoft Office, in order to print the actual slides they will have to click in the frame where the slide is and proceed to print that way for each slide. The easiest way to print slide shows is to open them in Microsoft PowerPoint (‘File’, ‘Edit with Microsoft PowerPoint’) this way they will be able to print more than one slide per page.
When I try to print from Adobe Reader (.pdf files) the text does not print
What is happening here is that the student is using the internet browser print option and it is only printing the header of the PDF file. The student needs to select the print icon from the Adobe header and print that way.
How do I print more than one page per sheet when printing pdf files?
When printing .pdf files from Adobe Acrobat Reader, in order to print more than one page per sheet you must first select ‘file’ and ‘page setup’. When the box appears click ‘properties’ and under the box ‘finishing document options’ select the number of pages you want printed to one sheet and click ‘ok’ on both boxes. Now you can continue printing as you normally would.
