Panel analyses terrorism actions

The Guest Lecture Committee of St. Thomas University hosted an open forum on November 13 concerning events occurring since the September 11 attacks on the United States. Criminology professor Dr. Chris McCormick creatively contrasted the conflicting viewpoints in the war against terrorism. A frequent critic of the media, he is the author of several books on social justice, including Constructing Danger: The Mis/Representation of Crime in the News. His fellow panelist was Andy Scott, MP. Mr. Scott is the Chairperson of the Standing Committee on Justice and Human Rights, which is overseeing the passage of the new anti-terrorist legislation. CBC “Information Morning” broadcaster Michael Camp moderated the discussion. The forum was held in the Ted Daigle Auditorium.
