Campaign recruits exceptional students

St. Thomas launched its annual “Testimonial Campaign” this fall, focusing on current students and recent graduates.

Since being recruited for the campaign, Amy Chedore was hired by the Admissions Office as an information officer. The 2001 valedictorian and Tom McCann co-winner has spent the past three months promoting St. Thomas predominantly throughout Atlantic Canada.

Natalie Oake was awarded the University’s top financial award, the Chancellor’s Scholarship, in 2000. The Sydney, NS, native earned Rookie of the Year honours from the women’s hockey squad last season.

Francis Farrington is in his third year at St. Thomas. The first St. Thomas recipient of the Lyford Cay Award, Francis helped lead the Tommies basketball team to the nationals last year.

Melissa Everett, strongly involved in the Students’ Union, won the prestigious Monsignor George W. Martin Scholarship in 2000. A second-year student, Melissa is from Sydney River, NS.

Jennifer Wright graduated from St. Thomas with arts and social work degrees. She is employed at Ridgewood Addiction Services in Saint John as a clinical social worker.

The St. Thomas testimonial advertisements appear in Atlantic Canada newspapers and publications.
