St. Thomas Faculty Awarded Research Grants


Three members of the St. Thomas community recently received significant research grants. We are pleased to note that there were three applications this year for research grants from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC). All three were successful!

  • Rosemary Clews (Social Work) and Bill Randall (Gerontology)received $92,287 for a three year “Rural Stories and Helping Processes: An Interdisciplinary Study”. (Collaborators: Heather Richmond, Dolores Furlong UNB- Nursing).
  • Ian Nicholson (Psychology) received $40,822 over three years to research and write, “Psychology in the Age of Aquarius: Abraham Maslow & the Science of Self-Actualization.”
  • Norma Jean Profitt (Social Work) was awarded $41,000 over three years to write, “No longer but not yet: Reinscribing ourselves differently.
