The
Thomists packed the dance floor at the St. Patricks Day launch
of their new CD at the Fredericton Sheraton on March 17, 2002. Alumni,
friends and fans turned out to celebrate the big band sound of the Thomists
and to hear selections from their CD 90 & Zero. The
Thomists have a repertoire of nearly 1,000 songs. The title of their
new CD harkens back to when the band had 90 songs in its repertoire.
Number 90 was a tune called, The Partys Over. The bands
theme song The World is Waiting for the Sunrise was affectionately
nicknamed Zero because it was played at the beginning and the end of
every concert. To this day the Thomists still wrap up with those two
selections hence the title 90 & Zero. Copies of 90
& Zero may be purchased for $20 through members of the Thomists
or by calling the Office of University Advancement at (506) 452-0645.
