Prompt #29

Regrouping

So what's going on? There's a good deal less than a complete set of discussions of readings in Drive Q:.

We want to find out what the problems are, and we'll spend the first little while this morning focusing on that -- if people are having trouble following the WordPerfect directions, or having other difficulties with the assignment, we want to know. If, on the other hand, if it's just a matter of people not having bothered with it, we want to know that, too.

If there are discussions that exist as hard copies, but not as files in Q:, we want to make sure that everybody's able to get her hard copy into the common directory so we can all work with it.

We also want to make sure everyone's well on the way in reading in a second book or substantial group of related texts.

We'll begin with a taking-stock inkshed, but we're going to move everyone to tables with people from other focus groups, so that we can get as much cross-group thinking about problems and strategies as we can.

When we've done this, we'll turn people loose to do what has to be done to make sure that by the end of the day everyone's got a DISCUSS file (and for that matter a BIBLIO file) in Q:, and has started into a second round of serious, in-depth reading.

At the end of the day, at 4:00, we'll have a touching-base and what-happens-Thursday meeting.
