Bachelor of Arts

The St. Thomas University Bachelor of Arts is unique in Canada. As the core academic program, the Bachelor of Arts is the heart of our academic community. All 1,800 undergraduates are Bachelor of Arts students—connected by their interest in the social sciences and humanities.

Major, Honours, Minor

You will be required to choose at least one major—a concentration of studies in one academic field—but not before exploring courses in disciplines that interest you.

You will have the option of pursuing honours by completing a higher level of courses in one area, and—depending on departmental requirements—writing and defending a thesis in a particular area of the field.

If you develop a general interest in a particular field, but do not wish to pursue a major, you have the ability to complete a minor in the field.
