REDress Project

The Wabanaki Student Centre, STU Ad hoc Senate Committee on Indigenizing the Academy, and the Women’s Studies and Gender Studies program organize the installation of the REDress Project on campus.

The REDress Project explores themes of gender, identity, place and resistance through installation, photography and performance. The dresses belong to Jaime Black, a multidisciplinary artist of Anishnaabe/Cree and European descent.

The project is an aesthetic response to the over 1000 missing and murdered indigenous women and girls, Two-Spirit, lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered, queer, and those with disabilities or special needs in Canada.
