Moot Court Rankings

2022

STU finished first at the Stetson International North American Regional, where STU also won top orator and top written brief. 

STU Moot Court also had top 8 finishes at the Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court and the 2022 Osgoode Cup.

2021

Four STU students were named as top orator at the South Atlantic Moot Court Regional hosted by the University of Central Florida.

 

A pair of STU students finished in second place at the Fitchburg Regional Moot Court Competition and punched their ticket for Nationals and two STU students were named as Top Orators.

 

A STU student placed first for Top Orator at the St. Thomas Regional Competition.

 

2020

A pair of STU students finished second in the Osgoode Cup, while two other STU teams advanced to the quarterfinals.

 

Two STU teams tied for 17th place at the American Moot Court Association National Tournament out of 474 teams that competed nationwide throughout the season. Another team finished 33rd. One student was named a top orator, placing ninth overall.

 

A pair of students finished first in the Lions Cup Moot Competition, a virtual event hosted by York University. One student received a second place speaker award while the other received a fourth place speaker award.

 

2019

STU Moot Court ranked THIRD Overall in the American Moot Court Association. They also Ranked FIRST in Appellate Brief Writing and THIRD in Oral Advocacy.

 

2018

In STU’s second appearance at the Osgoode Cup in Toronto, a pair of STU Mooters placed second and one STU mooter was named Top Advocate.

 

2017

STU was a two-time finalist at the Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition and was the first Canadian team to be crowned WORLD CHAMPIONS.

 

In their debut at the Osgoode Cup in Toronto, STU Moot Court was crowned national undergraduate Moot Court champions.
