Current Residence Students Forms
- Friday, August 30, 2019: First year residence students
- Monday, September 2, 2019: Returning residence student
If you are unable to move-in on the official move in dates listed above, due to STU commitments or external reasons, please complete this request form no later than August 15, 2019. Residents will be contacted through their STU email account (five random letters@STU.CA) with the outcome of their request along with further instructions on how to move into their room. Students who are requesting to move-in early and are not required by STU teams, training or Indigenous or International Student Orientation, will be charged $40 per night.
Each first-year residence student must pay a $250.00 damage deposit with their residence fees. This deposit is transferred to the next year provided the student stays in residence and there are no damages to the room. Students moving out of residence are required to submit a request for Damage Deposit Return form to the Residence Life Office in order for the damage deposit to be refunded to them.
The Residence Life Office does its best to accommodate students and meet preferences from the Residence Application. When you are assigned a room, it is natural to wonder if this will be the right room for you. We have found that most students need to experience their room assignment for at least three weeks to discover the benefits. For those students who are certain that a room change is necessary, we will try to accommodate one room change request.
As outlined in your 2018-2019 Residence Guide, the Residence community will be closed for the Christmas break: December 18, 2018 at 12 noon and will reopen on January 5, 2018 at 9 am.
Students are required to leave residence within 24 hours after their last exam. Students who have exhausted all other means and need to stay in residence during any portion of this time period MUST return this completed form to GMH303 or email@example.com not later than noon on December 10, 2018. Your application will be reviewed and you will be notified at your STU email address of the outcome.
Students are welcome to have an overnight guest in their room. The Overnight Guest Sign-in Form needs to be submitted to the Residence Coordinator on-call or Residence Advisor on-duty prior the guest’s arrival. The purpose of the form is to ensure the safety of residents in the building and to allow staff to be aware of visitors in the house.
It is the responsibility of the resident to ask for permission from their roommate to have an overnight guest. Residents are also responsible for informing their guests of the Community Standards and to abide by them. Guests must be accompanied by their host at all times. Guests cannot exceed 3 consecutive overnight stays.
