True or False

True/false questions test your recognition of facts and concepts—of whether the information stated is TRUE or FALSE.

Read Carefully

  • Read the entire statement
  • If the statement has more than one part, identify these parts
  • Test each part for truth
  • If any one part is false, the entire statement is false

Qualifiers

  • These are the same words to watch for in Multiple Choice questions
  • Words such as: sometimes, rarely or almost
  • These qualifiers generally make a statement TRUE
  • Strong qualifiers such as always or never generally indicate a FALSE statement

Watch for Negatives

  • These are words like not and cannot
  • Read the statement without these words and see if you can decide on TRUE or FALSE
  • Add the negative, and the correct answer would then be the opposite
  • And remember, two negatives make a positive!
