St. Thomas University Student Art Gallery will launch a new exhibition featuring the paintings of students of in the Fine Arts Introduction to Art Fundamentals FNAR 1113a, class.

The exhibition entitled “Throwing Shade” features over 30 paintings with a broad range of personal and creative approaches exploring the still life genre in black, white and grey.

The paintings have been inspired by the work of great Italian artist Giorgio Morandi, and reflect a common focus on tone with an in-depth exploration of the still life genre utilizing the infinite variety of shades of grey found between black and white.

“Throwing Shade”, will open on Monday Sept. 17^th at 11am. and will remain on view until November 21, 2018.
