Dr. Richard Lafleur, Psychology professor at the University of West Georgia will deliver a public lecture titled "Narrative Inquiry and Mattering," October 24 at 7:00 pm in Brian Mulroney Hall room 313.

In the lecture, Dr. Lafleur will share the foundational aspects of “mattering,” and how these are pertinent to cultivating, protecting, and procuring meaningful relationships in our lives. He will explore how we feel valued and add value to self and others and how, through this interaction, we’re able to experience a positive and hopeful sense of life-satisfaction. He will also share his own work with narrative inquiry and its use in gaining deeper insights into mattering, insofar as the “stories of our lives” are rich in knowledge for understanding what it truly means to be, and to be human.

Dr. Richard Lafleur is an author, researcher, educator, and international speaker in the discipline of Psychology. He earned his PhD (in Consciousness and Society) at the University of West Georgia, where he currently teaches courses in Psychology and in Integrative Healthcare Studies
