  • Lower Courtyard and Wabanaki Student Centre

On behalf of the Senate Committee on Reconciliation, I am pleased to announce that St. Thomas University will be raising two permanent flags on our campus on Monday, October 15th at 12 noon.

Joining the Canadian, New Brunswick, and St. Thomas University flags will be the flags of the Wəlastəkewiyik (Maliseet) and the Mi’kmaq Grand Council. St. Thomas University is located on the traditional territory of the Wəlastəkewiyik. Prior to moving to Fredericton, St. Thomas University and College was previously located in Chatham, which is the traditional territory of the Mi’kmaq.

Following the flag raising, there will be a reception with light refreshments in the Wabanaki Student Centre in Sir James Dunn Hall. Please join us along with the Chiefs and Elders from the surrounding communities. All are welcome.

Thank you.

Vice-President (Academic and Research)
