Latest Issue of The Nashwaak Review

The latest Nashwaak Review is now available.

Dr. Stewart Donovan, editor of the publication is especially pleased with this issue.

“It’s not often that you get to see an important part of your family history placed within a unique and professional historical context concerning material, social and architectural history.”

But that is exactly what Donovan’s brother Ken has done with his essay: “Preserving A Working-Class Irish House in Ingonish, Cape Breton, A Social and Architectural History, 1823-1917.”

“I admit it was a bit of a coup getting this piece, as I know other historians were telling him to publish in Acadiensis and other highly regarded historical journals. I think what sold him on the Nashwaak was that we could provide full colour cover paintings of the house and much of its contents,” Dr. Donovan adds

Female artists Anna Syperek, the well-known Nova Scotia painter from Antigonish, Susan Donovan, and Prava Mooneswamy a St. Thomas University Fine Arts student, all contributed to the issue.

Dr. Donovan adds that this issue of the Nashwaak Review also contains the usual high standard of poetry, short stories, travel pieces and reviews that the magazine is known for across the country and internationally.

Since 1994, The Nashwaak Review has published original poetry, short fiction, travel pieces, essays, articles, and reviews. It is a venue for new and established artists, reviewers and critics throughout Canada.
