Black Box Productions presents The Fofana Kingdom

2:00 PM

Black Box Theatre, JDH

Black Box Productions invites you to the premier of the original production, The Fofana Kingdom.  Join Princess Ozanna of Fofana Kingdom, as she embarks on a quest in search of an answer to the timeless question, ‘Where is home?’.

Told through the lens of ancient Africa from the seat of Sierra Leone – The Lion Mountain, this epic tale examines globalization and immigration in the modern era. The Fofana Kingdom is co-directed and written by two STU alumni: Saa Andrew Gbongbor, an artist, activist, and former refugee from Sierra Leone, and Lucas Gutiérrez-Robert, an emerging artist and first-generation Argentinian, who harness their unique artistic skills and personal experiences to create a beautiful, heart opening work of theatre.

Saa Andrew Gbongbor, through the generous support of ArtsNB, has been Artist in Residence with Black Box Productions since September 2022.

The show runs from Thursday, February 2 to Saturday, February 4 in St. Thomas University's Black Box Theatre located in James Dunn Hall. Shows start at 7:30 PM with a matinee showing at 2 PM on Saturday. Tickets are pay what you can, and will be available at the door or can be reserved by emailing theatre@stu.ca.
