Book Launch – "Women and Careers: Transnational Studies in Public Policy and Employment Equity" edited by Marilee Reimer

The Research Office and the Sociology Department invite you to celebrate the launch of Women and Careers: Transnational Studies in Public Policy and Employment Equity, edited by Dr. Marilee Reimer (Sociology, Women’s Studies and Gender Studies). The book launch will take place on February 8 at 2:30 pm in the Rotunda.

The unifying theme of Women and Careers is women’s educational and employment success, with the objective of profiling supportive public policy in a global context from Atlantic Canada to Western Europe, Australia, and China. The book takes up the career processes of women from marginalized groups in Atlantic Canada, China, and Ireland. It examines a series of institutional contexts transnationally and reviews the impact of policies, programs and economic re-structuring on careers outcomes. This latest research of comparative studies and policy analysis will be able to help researchers, academics, and policymakers in a variety of fields.
