Great Books Alumni Panel Discussion: "From Great Books to Great Careers"

7:00 PM - 8:30 PM Atlantic

Virtual on Zoom

Join us for a virtual alumni panel discussion, hosted by the Great Books Program, "From Great Books to Great Careers".

The panelists will discuss how their experiences with the Great Books Program—reading difficult primary texts in an interdisciplinary, conversation-focused format—helped them develop in their careers. They will also share tips on how students in the humanities in general can describe the skills they already have for the workforce, and how they chose their specific careers in light of their broad liberal education. The panelists will also comment on the advantages of studying the great books for the job market.

The panel is open to prospective and current students.

The panel discussion will be delivered by Stuart Forestell, BA’06, Policy Manager with the Digital Citizen Initative for Heritage and Citizenship Canada (and a former Senior Policy Advisor to the Privy Council’s Priorities and Planning Committee); Andrew Solano, BA’15, Product Manager at tech startup Introhive; Telina Debly, BA’19, Planner with the Halifax Regional Municipality and Emma Rhodes, BA’20, a poet and Associate Publicist with House of Anansi Press.
