STU Cares Day of Action, which embodies STU's spirit of service, will take place Saturday, September 14, 2019.
Volunteer teams of STU students will go into the community to learn about the work of local community organizations and do hands-on work to support them.
Volunteers can expect to work on issues such as poverty, food security, environmental preservation, homelessness, domestic violence, youth, and community building, to name a few.
This Day of Action typically goes on from 9:00 am until 2:00 pm and concludes with a reflection on the acts of service done, social issues in the community, and connections to class material. After the day’s hard-work, we celebrate with food.
STU Cares is a great way to meet new friends, make a difference, be more involved on campus, explore Fredericton, and be exposed to possible career opportunities.
The registration deadline is Wednesday, September 11, 2019, or when all spaces are filled.
