STU Cares Day of Action

STU Cares Day of Action returns with both virtual and in-person* volunteer opportunities this Fall! Taking place on Friday, September 18th, 2020 from 10am to 2pm, this valuable day of hands-on volunteering will introduce and expose STUdents to Fredericton's community organizations and partners.

Traditionally known as a day where STUdents: (a) head out to learn about a local community organization; and (b) engage in hands-on volunteer work to support the organization, STU Cares aspires to nurture a meaningful bond of learning and volunteering between STUdents and the community.

Nevertheless, as planners of the event this year under COVID-19 restrictions, our goal is to capture the same STU spirit of service. Using these circumstances as an opportunity to design an enhanced and enriching experience for all, the Experiential Office aims to create a STU Cares event that encourages students to become regular volunteers with organizations in their community.

STU Cares will be a combination of separate virtual and in-person* events this year. Both are concurrent (10am to 2pm), and both remain as excellent ways to meet new friends; engage with a community organization in Fredericton; make a difference; and explore current/future volunteer and career opportunities.

Should you choose to participate in STU Cares Day of Action 2020, organizations that you might work with include: The Ville Cooperative, the Multicultural Association of Fredericton, Sexual Violence New Brunswick, and more.

*NOTE: Due to COVID-19 restrictions, keep in mind that there will be limited spots for the in-person event. Thus, if needed, selection may be based on one's indicated level/areas of interest.
