STU Mental Health is offering FREE "Student Helpers" Mental Health training to all students, on Saturday, Feb. 2 from 10 am to 4 pm.

This fun, informative, and interactive training opportunity will provide you with the information and skills you need to harness your inner helper!

This full-day training aims to increase mental health awareness, reduce the stigma around mental health, and provide practical information and skills that students can use to help their friends (or themselves!) when they are struggling with mental health concerns. Participants will learn about mental health and illness, how to identify when a friend may be struggling, build confidence on how to approach and help a struggling friend, the knowledge required to appropriately refer peers to supports, and lots of practical tips on how to be an effective helper.

Breakfast, lunch, and snacks will be provided, and all participants will receive a certificate of completion from the program.

For more information and to register, please contact Kelly Humber Kelly (humberk@stu.ca) by Thursday, January 31st at 4pm.
