Biography

Dawn Morgan was born in Assiniboia, Saskatchewan, and has lived in Regina, Toronto, Ottawa, and Montréal in Canada, in New Brunswick, NJ and Orlando, FL in the United States, and in Dar es Salaam and Zanzibar in Tanzania, East Africa. Prior to returning to university study in 1991, she worked as a production assistant in CBC Television Commercial Sales, and as a journalist for CBC Radio Current Affairs. In 1988, she received a Fellowship from the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to teach journalism at the Tanzania School of Journalism in Dar es Salaam and record oral traditions for the East African Centre for Research on Oral Traditions and African National Languages (EACROTANAL) in Zanzibar.
