Aquinas Lecture: (In)Sufficient Reason: Aquinas and Philosophical Theology

Please join the Department of Philosophy for the Annual Aquinas Lecture on Wednesday, January 15 at 4:00 pm in McCain Hall, room 308. This year's lecture, "(In)Sufficient Reason: Aquinas and Philosophical Theology," will be delivered by Dr. Alex Hall, Professor of Philosophy, Clayton State University.

Thesis
Some contemporary thinkers contend that Thomas Aquinas’s cosmological proofs of God’s existence rely on the strong formulation of the principle of sufficient reason and are therefore unsound. I find that Aquinas’s proofs rely on a mild version of the principle that evades these unsoundness objections, provided that one accepts the principle at all.

All are welcome to attend.
