Biography

Doris Chow is a global citizen who has called many places home. Her first home was Hong Kong, where she was born and raised, and where she found her love in Experimental Psychology while completing her Bachelor of Social Sciences at the University of Hong Kong. Motivated by her research mentors, she pursued a Master of Philosophy from the University of Hong Kong and a Ph.D. in Developmental and Brain Sciences from the University of Massachusetts Boston (USA). Her postdoctoral training at the University of British Columbia Vancouver further honed her research and teaching skills before she joined the STU faculty in 2022. Currently, her research and teaching interests are perception and cognition intersecting with development and neuroscience. She has a track record of collaborating with community partners wherever she goes (for example, Museum of Science, Boston, 2014-2018) and is interested in continuing to do so here at STU. When not at work, she can be found reading, taking a walk, or experimenting with new recipes with her partner in their kitchen.
