Biography

Jenni Cammaert was born in a small farming community in southwestern Ontario and received all her degrees from the University of Windsor. She moved with her children to New Brunswick in 2017 after accepting a faculty position at St. Thomas University (STU). Prior to coming to STU, she spent over a decade in the field as a clinical social worker, mainly working with individuals with eating disorders. However, service pathway advocacy was an essential part of her work.

She has taught undergraduate and graduate social work courses since 2012.  Her research interests include access and barriers to eating disorder services, nutritional social work and ecological sustainability, and intimate partner violence.

For fun and self-care, she enjoys Reiki, meditation, healing crystals and oils, reading, being near water and beach combing, gardening, painting, yoga, hiking and exploring the Maritimes with her children.
